Southern Miss got some huge news yesterday when talented OLB William Robinson made his pledge to the hometown Golden Eagles after a 7 on 7 camp.
Robinson, (6'3, 210), got a full work-out with Coach Pec and both sides were ready to make their commitment known to each other.
"It's my home town," Robinson told GoldenEaglePride.com.
"My family was a huge factor in my decision. I want to be close to them and know they can come see me play.
"Also, I know that Iwill have a close relationship with the players at Southern Miss."
Robinson chose the Eagles over offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Memphis. He certainly showed off his skills to the coaches at USM, who have him pegged as a future hybrid linebacker.
"Yesterday went really well," he said. "I felt like I pulled my hamstring so I don't feel like I had my best day."
In a previous article, GoldenEaglePride.com's Glyn Dyar commented about Robinson after watching him work-out yesterday:
"William is a long athletic linebacker with a serious wing span. From a physical standpoint, he is a complete athlete with zero limitations. He can drop and cover. He can can stack and shed blockers with those long arms. He gets to the football with explosive closing speed. Tremendous get for Southern Miss."
