Taquavian Drake was one of a large number of prospects on hand to take in the Southern Miss Elite camp Friday mid morning. The talented ATH already had an offer from the Golden Eagle staff, but wanted to continue to show what he could do along with taking a tour of the campus.
Drake took a few minutes after camp to talk to GoldenEaglePride.com about his experience.
"We ran 40's, some individual drills, and I also got a chance to run some one on one's with the Safeties Coach," he said.
"We also toured the athletic part of the campus."
The talented ATH certainly left impressed with his time with the coaches.
"They really enjoyed me coming down today and told me I'd be a great fit," he said. "They also told me to keep grinding and to keep God first in everything I do.
"They also encouraged me to be the best leader I can be for my teammates and to come back again soon."
Also, the campus made an impression on him.
"I loved The Rock," he said. "Also, the locker room is one of the most impressive I've seen so far.
"Seems like there are very nice people there too. I could see myself there. My family and I enjoyed everything and loved the way they treated me."
For now, Drake plans to go home and continue to work hard.
"I've had a busy two weeks with camps so I'm going to go home and work with my team and show them everything I've learned," he said. "Then, I'm going to go to a camp at Alabama in July."
