Triplett Flying High

With the Offense that Larry Fedora has installed at USM, skill positions are always a major need. USM got some much needed help at WR today with the signing of Louisville High School Wide Receiver Markese Triplett. The 6'4" receiver talks with GoldenEaglePride about his commitment.

"When I went down there, they gave me an awesome tour of the campus and I got to meet coach Fedora," said Triplett "I just felt very comfortable down there and I wanted to go ahead and commit to take some of the pressure off of me."

Triplett also had a lot of interest in Mississippi State, but decided to come to USM because of Coach Fedora.

"I felt like I could get a lot closer to somebody like Larry Fedora than I could Dan Mullen. I just had that connection with him and Southern Miss."

He still has another year of high school ahead of him, but Markese is already getting familiar with his future teammates.

"I got to meet all of the wide receivers when I went down there and I also got to meet Austin Davis" said Triplett "I like all of the guys pretty good."

With commitments that happen this early, there is always speculation that it might be very soft, but Markese seems pretty confident in his decision with the Eagles.

"I am very confident in my decision," said Markese "I don't think that I could change my mind about this one."

This is the second commitment of the day for the Golden Eagles to go along with Urell Johnson. We will have a story up on Urell's commitment shortly. Stay tuned to for the best coverage of Southern Miss sports on the internet.
