Tyler Mabry: I think we all have a great chance. It's about whoever can come out here every day and do what needs to be done.
Anything you're going to be working on specifically, to try and improve upon?
TM: Absolutely. Every day, you try and pick something to get better on, and for me in particular, I come out here and try to keep my hands tight and keep my pad level low, just do what the coaches need.
The first preseason rankings have come out and you guys are ranked pretty high. Does that add to the pressure or change your mentality at all?
TM: We always put a lot of pressure on ourselves. I don't think anyone really pays a lot of attention to the preseason rankings. It's really just a matter of, if we can play our game and do what we want, then everything will take care of itself.
Can you talk a little bit about the differences between Coach Harbaugh's coaching style from last year versus Coach Shaw's style from this year?
TM: Both coaches are competitive people. Coach Shaw has his own style—Coach Harbaugh might have been a little more in your face, but Coach Shaw is just as competitive and wants to win just as badly and pushes us just as much. There's definitely a different style, but I've got all the faith in the world in Coach Shaw and what's he's doing out here—we're going to get a lot of great things done.
As an offensive line, what's the type of reputation you guys would like to possess?
TM: Physical is the first word that comes to mind…Character and cruelty: we want to be a clean bunch but at the same time we want to be just as physical as anyone else.
