Bootleg Radio: Texas LB Tay Evans
A quick look at linebacker Tay Evans' highlight film shows his prolific ability to terrorize opposing quarterbacks.
"I love rushing," he says."My heart beats so fast when [I see the quarterback in front of me]."
The Allex, TX native plays big-time high school football in the Dallas Metroplex. His Allen High School team won the Texas 5A State Championship Game (played in Cowboys Stadium) last season after only losing once on the year. That 27-24 setback came to Coppell High School, home of decorated Stanford prospect Solomon Thomas and a coaching staff that visited a Cardinal spring practice about two months ago. Allen gets another chance at Coppell this coming season.
Just this week, Evans tweeted that he may commit soon. He confirmed that The Farm is on top of list, though he's been unable to visit campus yet. He told a Texas newspaper that Oklahoma, his father's alma mater, would be his "dream school" earlier this year, but those feelings seem to have shifted after Stanford offered behind Tavita Pritchard this spring.
"Stanford is just the whole package," Evans says. "I want to make my own legacy. If that means going to Stanford, then hey."
Listen on for more from Evans, and be sure to check out his highlight tape linked above.
