Stanford Football Hires Oklahoma Coach Diron Reynolds to Lead Cardinal Defensive Line

Stanford wasted no time in finding the man tasked with filling the shoes of departed D Line Coach Randy Hart

Reports have come out the newest defensive line coach of the Stanford Cardinal will be Oklahoma’s Diron Reynolds, who held the same position for the Sooners in the 2015 season.

Here is Reynolds confirming he will not return to Oklahoma:

Reynolds will replace Randy Hart, who retired after 46 years as a full-time assistant and six years with the Cardinal.  Reynolds coached under Hart in 2014 for the Cardinal and spent time with Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts. Reynolds’ familiarity with the program and Hart’s approach to the defensive line would seem to help in his transition with the Cardinal.

Stanford commit Mike Williams shares his thoughts on the hire:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I considered OU because I believed in Coach Reynolds glad to see the farm got better</p>&mdash; Uncle Julio (@mike_williams52) <a href="">February 11, 2016</a></blockquote>
