Martinez the cheesehead has a nice ring to it, right?

The Green Bay Packers selected former Stanford linebacker Blake Martinez in the fourth round with the 131st pick.

Martinez appeared in 51 games for the Cardinal, and he made his presence known around the Pac-12, totaling 102 tackles his junior year and 141 tackles his senior year, both team highs. He helped lead a Rose Bowl champion defense that was third in the Pac-12 in scoring in 2015.

Martinez brings four years of playing at the Pac-12 level to the Packers. The product out of Canyon del Oro High School in Tucson, AZ is the third Cardinal selected in the draft, Joshua Garnett was a first round selection to the 49ers and Austin Hooper was taken by the Falcons in the third round.
