Bailey McElwain's journey to college football has been an interesting one.
The Trussville, Ala. fullback and linebacker gave his verbal commitment to Stanford to be a part of the 2016 class, but never signed a letter of intent. Questions swirled around his status. It eventually came out that McElwain would grayshirt, or receive a delayed scholarship, and head to Lake Forest Academy, a prep school in Chicago, for the upcoming season.
But on Monday, McElwain's Twitter bio says something a little different.
Vanderbilt was a team that Stanford fans thought could have swung McElwain when his letter of intent didn't come across the fax machine on Signing Day.
There is much more to learn about the three-star recruit's status, but he could be heading to a program that is led by a former Cardinal defensive coordinator in Derek Mason.
