Sumner (Wash.) four-star athlete Connor Wedington was one of the top undecided recruits in the country.
Key phrase is was.
The #77 overall recruit and #4 athlete in the country committed to Stanford, adding to their already impressive class.
Wedington was a longtime Washington commit before re-opening his commitment in December. That happened to be the same day he was admitted into Stanford.
Since then, Wedington took visits to Stanford, Baylor and UCLA and committed Monday to the Cardinal.
The three-year varsity starter at Sumner rushed for 3,499 yards and 48 touchdowns. Defensively, he had six interceptions as a safety.
There were six undecided recruits on Stanford’s big visit weekend a few weeks ago. The Cardinal have earned commitments from four of those players: Wedington, three-star defensive tackle Dalyn Wade-Perry, four-star athlete Paulson Adebo, and three-star linebacker Levani Damuni.
The Cardinal’s average stars per recruit now sits at 3.84, fourth in nation.
The Cardinal hope to continue that trend with four-star defensive end Ryan Johnson and four-star linebacker Leonard Warner.
