Conference Bowl Previews

Tree Boy, who has delivered some classic looks at our friend in the Pac-10 this season, has post-season pontifications on those who are bowling. Check out entertaining comments on the Fiesta, Sun, Holiday and Las Vegas Bowls - including final score predictions. Only one team is predicted to fail to do the Pac proud...

Las Vegas Bowl: USC vs Utah

Still wondering how the Trojans made it into the postseason?  You aren't alone.  SC did parlay their late season surge into a Vegas vacation, and the Utes will be there to greet them. Both teams will have to avoid the clever marketing of the Christmas themed casino games, such as "Santa Slots" and "Blitzen's Blackjack."  Utah's strength is their run defense, but the southern Gals don't run, so that goes right out the window.  This game will come down to the dominance of the Trojan defense and Carson's ability to hit his fleet of foot wideouts.

USC 34 Utah 9

Holiday Bowl: Washington vs. Texas

The Longhorns are disappointed to be in San Diego, while the Huskies are in disbelief to be there.  Texas holds the edge in nearly every statistical category and they finally have the right QB in.  Washington was embarrassed in their last game and more importantly, this game won't be in that fun house called Husky Stadium.  The only question is, why am I picking them to cover the spread??

Texas 30 UW 20

Sun Bowl: Washington State vs. Purdue

Much like GT, everything is going wrong for the Boilermakers as their game nears.  They lose their 2 best defenders, and then their QB announced he was transferring after the season.  It doesn't really matter though, as Pur-don't is overmatched in this game.  Although the loss to the Huskies dampened the Cougs season, a chance to play in a bowl game is rare and will bring about a strong showing.

WSU 40  Purdue 17

Fiesta Bowl: Oregon vs. Colorado

This is THE game to watch.  Both squads are pissed as all hell that they aren't in the championship game (Belotti even equated being snubbed by the BCS to life and death) and both squads want to show the nation why they are the best team.  Are the Buffs that good or just playing above their hides?  Can Hype Harrington actually put together a performance worthy of being invited to the Heisman Ceremony?  I want the Ducks to win and split the National Championship.  Why?  So that we Cardinal fans can ruffle their feathers with the fact that we ruined their dream season.

UO 38  Colorado 35
