Eight Electrifying Questions

We haven't seen her on the court since the first weekend series of the New Year against the Washington schools, though Christy Titchenal may be soon returning to action for the Cardinal. Get reaquainted with the 6'1" freshman forward through our series of "Eight Electrifying Questions," which look at the Stanford women - beyond the basketball.

1. How did you spend your summer?

Doing the Stanford summer workouts, mostly. I went to our cabin. We have a cabin up north in the Klamath National Forest and I went up there for a week. We fish and we hike up there.

Was that the highlight of your summer?

Yeah, that was my one trip, basically.

So you enjoy the outdoors a lot?

Oh yeah.

2. Which do you like watching better: the Summer or Winter Olympics?

I like the Summer Olympics better.

What events did you watch?

I watched the swimming, the gymnastics, the basketball and the track. I really like watching track and field.

Do you prefer the sprints or the distance events?

The sprints mostly.

3. A place I have never visited but would love to is…

Why is that?

I've always wanted to go there. My parents went when I was younger and left me behind. It just seems like a cool place.

Would you go to New Zealand while you are there?

Yeah, definitely. I'd want to go there to.

4. If you could have one superpower, it would be…

To fly.

Why is that?

Because it would be really cool.

5. What CD are you embarrassed to admit that you own?

Ummm… huh. I don't know.

No boy bands or anything like that?

I have a Spice Girls CD. You can put that down.

Which one is it?

The first one I think.

6. If you could have one last meal to eat, what would it be?

Probably deserts. Ice cream with chocolate stuff!

I can see you're a healthy eater.

Most of the time, but I do enjoy treating myself!

Is it mainly desserts from restaurants or your mom's desserts.

My mom's desserts or Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.

What's your favorite flavor?

Vanilla Carmel Fudge.

7. So who would win in an all-out battle: Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Uma Thurman's character in "Kill Bill Volume I"?

Uma Thurman. I think she's just a little bit stronger than Sarah Michelle Gellar.

8. Do you have any nicknames?

People call me "Titch" off of my last name, for short.

So has it been a childhood name…

It's a basketball thing. My older brother, when he played in high school, they called him that. His old coach is now coaching my high school, so he started calling me that and then all my teammates started calling me that.
