"I was very impressed with both of the schools. Stanford has shown great interest in me and has told me that I am in their top five right now for Quarterbacks. First, at Stanford they have amazing facilities and the campus is such a great place full of so much history. All of the coaches and people at Stanford were very nice and I felt very welcome there. The coach that is recruting me from Stanford is Dave Tipton the Defensive Line Coach, and he is a very nice man.
"Coach Tipton and Todd Husak the graduate assistant for Stanford were with me most of the day and I had very good conversations with both of them and was able to get to know them very well. I loved Cal's campus and facilities also. The coaches at Cal were on spring break, so a recruting coordinator showed me around the campus. There might be some interest for me at Cal but I am not quite sure yet. I gave them some film, so we will see what happens from there.
"I visited Stanford on Thursday and Cal on Friday. The University of Hawaii just called me today too and expressed their interest towards me for baseball."
Included below is film of Kempt, who one regional coach described as the next Mark Brunell. Cody is equally adept with his arms and legs, showing poise in the pocket and an innate ability to scramble when necessary. When it comes to quarterbacks in the Northwest, Kempt and Ferndale (Wash.) QB Jake Locker and Boise (Idaho) QB Cody Hawkins - son of Boise State Head Coach Dan Hawkins - get my early vote as the signal-callers to watch in the top left-hand corner of the country.
