Bootleg Video: Nate Hackett

Something brand new at Stanford in 2005, with the new structure of the football coaching staff, is a dedicated specialists coach for the kickers, punters and snappers: Nate Hackett. The Cardinal assistant coach spoke with us on camera Thursday after practice about the experience for him and his specialists, giving us a window of insight into a little known part of the football program.

Hackett talks with The Bootleg about his experience in his first spring as a Division I assistant coach, as well as the experience for the specialists at Stanford as they have a dedicated coach for their first time in college. He gives us comments and updates on all his players, including the battle for the kicking job (Michael Sgroi vs. Derek Belch) and the demands the former long snapper is placing upon Brent Newhouse.
