Fields Waiting on Test Score

Landry Fields isn't well known nationally, but he's one of the elite guards in the West for 2006. He has official visits upcoming the next two weekends with schools from the Pac-10 and WCC. Find out what his latest thinking is on Stanford, including the key determinant in his decision.

Landry Fields, 6-3 SR SG Los Alamitos (Calif.) High, is one of the elite shooting guards in the west and among the more underrated players nationally.

We spoke with Fields last night and got an update on his recruitment.

"The four schools I'm considering are Stanford, Gonzaga, New Mexico and Creighton," said Fields. "I'm going to Gonzaga for an official visit this weekend and I'll visit Stanford on October 20th."

Stanford has asked Fields for a higher SAT score and he recently took the test for a second time.

"I felt good about it," said Fields. "I was a lot more prepared this time. I'll get the results back by the end of the month."

Fields said that Stanford has told him they'll have a scholarship available if he gets a high enough test score. We asked Fields where the Cardinal rank on his list.

"If I get the score, I'll go to Stanford," said Fields.

Fields has already taken an official visit to New Mexico and we asked him about that trip.

"I liked New Mexico a lot," said Fields. "It was actually a lot different that I expected."
