Though just a redshirt freshman, Smith is the toast of Stanford this week after he put together a pleasantly surprising performance in his first career start. Against Washington State, the 6'5" offensive lineman started the game at right tackle but then moved midstream over to left tackle, where he finished the game. The affable Arizona native is able to laugh at a mistake or two made in Pullman but has plenty of insight into what the performance means for him, including his work still ahead. Also learn about Smith's mindset as he dealt with struggles in his development last spring, as well as a disheartening appearance in another game this fall.
