Bootleg Video: Alex Fletcher

Players may or may not match expectations, but redshirt freshman offensive lineman Alex Fletcher is backing up the hype this fall in his first year of college football action. His confidence comes through in his play on the field, and we see some of that as well in front of the camera. Sit down with us as we talk with the unique and engaging "Fletch."

Fletcher has been a fan favorite since his Cardinal commitment in February as a high school junior, but he is earning a new kind of respect with his play on the field this fall as a redshirt freshman.  The interior offensive lineman has lived up to all expectations, starting in every game this year and playing well.  Fletcher's natural position coming out of high school was center, though he moved to right guard this summer and has started there all seven games of 2005.  An injury to Tim Mattran last week may mean a return to the center position for Fletcher tomorrow, when he plays in a game he eagerly awaits at USC.  Fletcher sat down with The Bootleg this week to talk about the Trojans, playing different positions, being a freshman, and much more.
