Bootleg Video: Kristen Newlin

We knew so little about her coming out of Riverton, Wyoming two years ago, but big Kristen Newlin made an immediate impression as a shot blocker for the Cardinal. Now a junior, the 6'5" forward/center is becoming a complete player. Newlin sat down with us yesterday to talk about her evolution, plus what we should expect from her and Stanford in Maples Pavilion this winter.

She has been more than solid in a reserve role (with a sprinkling of 14 starts) through her first two years, but Newlin is stepping out of the shadows and into the limelight this winter as a primary post force for the Cardinal.  The 6'5" junior is bigger and stronger than ever, with improvements in her defense and offensive aggression.  Maybe more important is the health she is enjoying in her feet, which painfully eluded her each of the last two years.  The Stanford forward/center talks about all this and more in our exclusive sit-down in Maples Pavilion...
