He's an up and down player, but that is expected from a freshman. What makes Hill fun to watch in his first year on The Farm is his brazen confidence on offense, as well as his willingness to learn from his mistakes and improve himself as a player on both ends of the floor. Very few athletes at Hill's level can match their physical abilities with an equivalent understanding and cerebral approach for their game. That is why he is also already one of our favorite interviews on campus.
The freshman was not phased Tuesday when he was put at the podium in front of a gathering of local media to answer questions about his recent games, his season and his future. Hill talked freely about where his strengths have developed this year, and where he has found his greatest challenges. He talks about what happened in the Cal game that sent him quickly to the bench, as well as the missed point-blank chip shots he had at Gonzaga. The Arizona native also speaks about what it means to play the Sun Devils and Wildcats this week, including the dangerous matchups he will face Thursday night. Hill even talks about his future evolution as a forward at Stanford, with the changes both his body and his game will undertake.
Sit back and enjoy this composed and charismatic frosh.
