Bootleg Video: Chris Hernandez

He is a proven clutch competitor, a standout performer at two guard positions, the conference's leading free throw shooter, and just recently dipped to second in the Pac-10 in three-point shooting. He will be richly recognized Saturday on his Senior Day, but all Chris Hernandez wants to do right now is to find a way to win Thursday's rematch against USC.

Time is ticking away.  At the end of a spectacular Cardinal career, Hernandez has just two more regular season games remaining at Maples Pavilion, and he has scant few contests left to define his fifth and final year at Stanford.  Emotions should be running high with the approach of what is usually an emotional Senior Day, but Hernandez remains resolute in his focus on competing and winning what games he has in front of him.  Perhaps it helps that his classmates, with whom he was so very close, have already departed.  Josh Childress cashed a multi-million dollar NBA pay check two years ago, and Rob Little graduated last year.  But there is also a more even keel to Hernandez these days, part of the growth for the intense and tightly-wound competitor.

Enjoy this question & answer session from yesterday between the beloved Stanford fifth-year senior and local media, when Hernandez talked about USC, how he will handle Senior Day, what this season has been like for him, and what he still hopes to achieve.
