Bootleg Video: Virginia NIT Post-Game

Tuesday night's 65-49 win was an uplifting performance. Stanford had perhaps their most complete game of offense and defense this year, with contributions up and down the roster. The seniors rinsed some of the foul taste from their mouths in their final home game, also keeping their Cardinal careers alive. See the post-game comments from the "Big Three" plus Trent Johnson.

In sharp contrast to each of the last two times Stanford played, with long faces addressing the media in the press room, Cardinal seniors found a reason to smile after last night's NIT opening round win over Virginia.  There was talk of this win as some measure of "redemption" to put forth this win and performance, repairing the embarrassment of their Senior Day demolition.  Players were most excited by the team defense and offensive execution, with contributions coming from so many different players.

Johnson was also pleased by the way his team defended and shared the ball, but he was also careful to note the difficult and damaging circumstances of time and travel that likely depleted Virginia.  The Cardinal head coach also gave some preliminary thoughts on Missouri State, Stanford's next opponent less than 72 hours away.
