Bootleg Video: Chris Lewis

Conference honors were handed down today, and senior second baseman Chris Lewis was named Honorable Mention All Pac-10. That was hard to imagine possible just a few months ago, given the depths of difficulty he had both at the plate and in the field. A sit-down interview at the end of the regular season, his best as a collegian, is an affair where Lewis can smile.

At the end of March, he was batting .186.  Since then, he has been hitting .375.  He committed 11 errors in his first 27 games.  Since then, he has gone 28 games and made just two errors.

The turnaround of Chris Lewis is unquestionably a contributor to the turnaround that took Stanford from the rock-bottom basement of the Pac-10 earlier this year and put the Cardinal into their 13th straight NCAA Tournament.  The senior second baseman talks with The Bootleg and other reporters about his interesting season, as well as the play and confidence of this team headed into the postseason.
