We are proud to offer more than seven minutes of highlight clips of Stanford signee Kellen Kiilsgaard from his senior season at Auburn (Wash.) Senior High School. The 6'2" 220-pound athlete threw and ran for 2,100 yards and 36 touchdowns as the Trojans' quarterback in 2006. These clips will show his arm and pocket presence, as well as Kiilsgaard's excellent athleticism running through traffic and past defenders when he carried the ball.
"You guys are going to like him. He's a left-handed Marques Tuiasosopo, but bigger," says Scout.com Northwest recruiting analyst Chris Fetters. "Kellen is 6'2" easily. Marquess was barely six-foot."
"Kellen has those winning intangibles," Fetters adds. "I don't know if he'll develop into the playmaker in college that Marques became, but they certainly share the same football DNA."
Stanford fans who remember the 500-plus yards Marquess made against the Cardinal in 1999 in Seattle (302 throwing, 207 rushing) will be excited to have one of those athletes finally on their sideline. Kiilsgaard is rated a four-star prospect by Scout.com and is ranked the #21 quarterback in the Class of 2007. He was also named by Scout.com to their All-West Region First Team as an athlete.
In the second set of highlight video clips, enjoy more at quarterback plus several plays Kiilsgaard made on defense at the safety position his senior year. He was recruited and signed primarily as a quarterback for the Cardinal, but his size, athleticism and understanding of the game also make him a prime safety prospect.
