ScoutTV: 2009 QB Tate Forcier

Tate Forcier is having a fantastic couple of weeks. Two Sundays ago the sophomore was named the top quarterback at the fiercely talented Los Angeles All-American Combine. Monday he picked up his first scholarship offer from Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh. To better understand the buzz about the San Diego slinger, here are 16-plus minutes of highlights from Forcier's sophomore season.

You can call them the First Family of SoCal Quarterbacks.  Jason Forcier was ranked by in the Class of 2005 as the #8 signal caller in the nation and signed with Michigan (now transferring to Stanford).  Chris Forcier was ranked #19 among the Class of 2007 quarterbacks and signed with UCLA.  Next up in the Class of 2009 is Tate Forcier, and he looks like he may be the best of the Forcier family.  Recently at the Los Angeles All-American Combine, he bested a bevy of talented 2008 quarterbacks for top honors on the All-Combine first team.  The sophomore slinger has a fluid motion and physical gifts, with a big arm and fleet feet, that belie his age.

"Tate easily has the strongest arm of he and his brothers," says West recruiting analyst Brandon Huffman.  "He has a flawless throwing motion and quick snap on his delivery.  He's pretty athletic and has great footwork.  Doesn't have the size of Jason or Chris, but he's still only a sophomore, so he has time to grow.  But his arm is unrivaled between his two other Pac-10 playing brothers."

Forcier last fall threw for 1,637 yards and 16 touchdowns while running for another 527 yards and six scores as a sophomore at San Diego (Calif.) Scripps Ranch High School. proudly presents more than 16 minutes of video highlights from his 2006 season.
