In perhaps the most exciting and highly anticipated "commitment" news of 2008, at least for longtime members of the BootBoard, Miss Carridine Clara Say (aka "ME97- Hottie") & Mister Michael Andrew Eubanks (aka "ME97" for any of you born yesterday) were married at 5:00PM on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Stanford Memorial Church (aka "MemChu", which, being a 105-year-old building rarely posts on the boards). Converting their previous longstanding verbal commitment to a signed letter-of-intent and confirming their everlasting love before friends, families and their maker in a touching traditional ceremony, two storied Bootleg veterans joined together in holy matrimony, to have and to hold, from this day forward, in sickness, in health and in Stanford sports (which we all know is a bit of a lifelong sickness in itself!).
The beautiful blushing bride was positively resplendent in an elegant white gown, which perfectly complemented the so appropriately Cardinal-colored bridesmaid dresses. The bridal bouquet was of course deep Cardinal in hue and the gentlemen in the wedding party were tastefully adorned with calle lilly boutonnieres. The groom, looking admirably lean, was dashing and debonair in black tux, silver tie and matching silver waistcoat.
In a nod to the impact of Stanford Athletics on the lives of the young couple, longtime friend "Snapper61" read forth with modest amplification 1 Corinthians 12:31-13:8 which was followed by a steady reading of the "Prayer of the Faithful" by Stanford Head Football Coach Coach Jim Harbaugh, who was present with radiant wife of six months Sarah. The newly Mrs. Harbaugh dazzled in black, "accenting" the Cardinal and white color theme of the ceremony, a combination that caused some spirited debate at the wedding reception between those who prefer contemporary black accents and those who prefer the traditional Stanford red & white! (Just kidding!)
Fleet-footed Ringbearer Joshua Michael Eubanks, who has received very early interest from SMU and Oklahoma State as a cornerback, managed to hold onto the sacred symbols. The consent and exchange of vows was executed with precision. The unity candle was set aflame. The nuptial blessing was given and the newly married couple was introduced to thundering applause. The recessional, which at one point had been rumored to have been "All Right Now" appears in the end to have lost out to classic Mendelssohn.
Please join us in wishing the happy couple the very best. While they will be honeymooning in middle of the Pacific Ocean for several weeks, TheBootleg.com, in an exclusive arrangement involving a modest exchange of cash, has learned that the Eubanks' island bungalow will indeed have internet access and they will be able to check in and read our best wishes posted on the BootBoard.
