Cardinal Crossword: How Short Is YOUR Memory?

Now here's something you probably weren't expecting today: A "Cardinal Crossword" puzzle with the a theme of Stanford cornerbacks over the past 30 years. Cornerbacks, they say, have to have a short memory. When you get beaten deep, you still have to line up and be ready for the next play! This puzzle is difficult, but so is winning football games, people. Come to play and bring your A-game!

Ok, so after a few too many cups of coffee the other night, I was a bit wired and suddenly decided to craft a "Cardinal Crossword" puzzle with the a theme of Stanford cornerbacks over the past 30 years - I do things like that occasionally, much to my wife's chagrin!

Some of you will find this puzzle to be a bit challenging as it requires a breadth of knowledge and memory bridging from the late 1970s to 2008's incoming freshmen recruits. In other words, there are maybe a couple of dozen of you out there who are fanatic enough to be able to complete a puzzle like this without any hints ("Terry2" as one example)

Look, it is the Fourth of July and we can think of few better ways to celebrate than to test your recollection of Stanford defensive backs! This is TheBootleg.com and now and then we do things a little differently, you know, shake it up a little.

Click on the link and print it out. Solution is here: Give it the old college try and see how you do. You may find you remember more than you think you do!.

We have now added a "Solution" link above.

Enjoy!

Important Note: The clue for "6 DOWN" is supposed to read "All-Pac 10 2nd Team in '93" The last part was somehow cut off when we went to PDF. Too late to correct - sorry! Please be sure to add it to your puzzle sheet when you print it out so you won't get stuck on that one! Hint: The talented young man representing the correct answer to 6 DOWN spent some time working at the Stanford AD in recent years and is now a rising manager in player development with the National Football League! Once again, the 40-year decision pays off!
