Stanford safety commit Ed Reynolds was never too concerned about his chances of getting admitted to Stanford, but was nonetheless thrilled to get a call from Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh last night informing him that he had indeed earned admission to the school.
"I talked to Coach Harbaugh last night and he informed me that everything was good and I had been officially accepted," Reynolds told The Bootleg.
"It was great news. From the start they didn't think I was going to have any trouble in the process. But to finally find out is a monkey off my back and now I can really focus on working towards trying to compete early."
Reynolds plans to sign his Letter of Intent next Wednesday.
In the meantime, Reynolds has made it a point to start to get better acquainted with his future Cardinal teammates, even though he didn't fly out to Palo Alto for Stanford's "Big Visit" weekend on January 15.
"On my visit (November 28 for the Notre Dame game), Devon Carrington was there and we text a bunch," Reynolds said. "I talked to Alex Turner yesterday. I talk to Brandon [Bourbon], Louis Young. Then we all talk over Facebook a bunch. We're just trying to build that relationship early so when we come in for the summer we can build that class that makes a difference early."
Ed Reynolds is the 20th prospect in Stanford's 2010 recruiting class to publicly acknowledge earning admission to the school. The Bootleg would like to congratulate Ed and his family on this fantastic achievement as we look forward to watching him in Cardinal and White for years to come.
