'Cuse Makes Top Five

Three-star dual-threat quarterback Josh Grady was quoted with a top three earlier in the month, but says he doesn't remember giving out that information, so maybe he simply misspoke. When we caught up with him on Tuesday night he talked about a top five and said that Syracuse is definitely in the running.

Armwood High School quarterback Josh Grady is being recruited to play both quarterback and safety at the next level and the Syracuse Orange want the 6-foot, 185-pound athlete as a signal caller for their offense. So far he's impressed with what the coaching staff has to say and is sure he'll take an official visit to the school.

"My top five are USF, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Iowa and Iowa State," Grady stated. "Syracuse, Wake Forest and Iowa State want me to play quarterback and South Florida and Iowa like me at safety."

"I know I'm definitely taking an official visit to Syracuse as Coach (Nate) Hackett gave me a bunch of games I could come up to, so basically me and my Dad need to pick out a game, but I know for sure that I'm coming," Grady added. "I know they spread the ball around a lot, I talk to Coach Hackett a lot and get along with him well and I would love to play in New York. Being up in New York is a big selling point with me to be honest and I would love to come up and play up there."

"Growing up my family stressed academics and Syracuse has one of the top medical schools in the Northeast, so that is something that definitely stands out to me about them," Grady explained. "I most definitely would like to sit down with someone who has been Pre-Med or even a professor and get to know what that would be like for me as it's an avenue I want to explore when I get to college."

As a junior, Grady threw for 1553 and 18 touchdowns to only five interceptions while leading his team to the AAAA state semi-finals. He also had 526 rushing yards and scored eight times on the ground.
