Desir Focused On Season

North Miami Beach, Fla., defensive back Ritchy Desir has five scholarship offers with one of them coming from Syracuse and on Thursday night he spoke to us about his plans on when he'll start taking official visits.

Ritchy Desir, a 6-foot, 165-pound cornerback from North Miami Beach High School is holding a Syracuse offer and we asked him if the Orange were likely to get him on campus before he makes his final decision.

"Everything with Syracuse is the same as it has been," Desir said. "I think they're a pretty good program and I like the way the coaching staff acts with me. They keep in touch with me every chance they get just to say hello and sometimes we don't even talk about football. They'll just call to keep up with me about personal stuff like keeping up on my grades and things like that. Coach (Scott) Shafer is recruiting me and I like him a lot. He reminds me a lot of my head coach, so when I'm talking to him I just feel comfortable with him."

"I'm not really sure where I'm going to take official visits and I'd like for them to get an official visit, but that's up to my Mom and my coaching staff to make those decisions," Desir added. "We're just trying to focus on this season and then once the season is over then we're going to sit down and focus on official visits and all that. Right now the focus is my senior season."

On defense, Desir has four interceptions through five games and on offense, he also has a couple of touchdown passes with four rushing scores.
