Moore Impresses Shanks

Culpeper, Va., native Drayton Shanks is holding one offer from Syracuse right now and sees great opportunity at the school not only academically, but in learning from a former NFL player in wide receivers' coach Rob Moore.

Drayton Shanks, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide receiver from Eastern View High School has looked into Syracuse pretty thoroughly and is hoping to make it up for a visit soon.

"It's been a while since I've talked to someone from Syracuse because they're busy with the season, but I think it would be great for me to go to Syracuse," Shanks said. "I talk to my coaches about them and think about it a lot and just think it would be a great fit. I just like that they have a lot of history and that the football team is doing really good right now, so I'd like to be a part of helping them get better. I also think I'd have an opportunity to play up there."

"Coach (Rob) Moore is recruiting me and he talked to me about his NFL experience and said he could help me be the best wide receiver I could be which is what I liked the most," Shanks stated. "It's definitely big that I'd be working under someone who was really successful at the NFL level like Coach Moore was, so that is another thing to like about their program."

"I'd like to set up a visit after the season so I have time to get up there and really enjoy my trip. I want to see the facilities, see how I fit in to the campus life and also get a feel for the weather because I'm not used to the cold."

Virginia Tech and Arkansas are recruiting Shanks the most seriously other than Syracuse, but have not offered.
