Official in the Books

Four-star defensive tackle Kevin McReynolds has narrowed his list to five schools and took his official visit to Syracuse this past weekend. He would be a huge get for the Orange and the Washington, D.C., native gave us his thoughts on where they stand on Monday night.

Kevin McReynolds, a 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive tackle from St. John's College made it up to Syracuse for his official visit over the weekend and it sounds like Syracuse made a lasting impression on him.

"My visit went well and it's definitely a good place," McReynolds said. "They had a bounce back year, they're doing a lot of good things this year and they're definitely going in the right direction with their football team. Coach (Doug) Marrone has done a lot of great things in terms of getting them going in his image, so I like what he's got going on."

"I got up on Friday morning and we just went around the city and ate with the coaches," McReynolds stated. "After that I went out with my host Antwon Bailey and a lot of other players and they showed me the hot spots up there for social life. We had a lot of fun on Friday night and it was definitely a place where I could see myself being in college. It snows a lot more than Maryland, but it's a tremendous place and I like it a lot up there."

"Saturday I met with the people from the Business School and the Whitman School of Business is definitely one of the best I've seen so far," McReynolds explained. "We had some great barbecue with the coaches after that and hanging out with the coaches was great because they're former players and I can relate with them. It's good to have coaches that played the sport themselves at a high level."

"I have my top five right now and Syracuse has a very good chance in the race," McReynolds added. "My family and I have to sit down and make the right decision by signing day and Syracuse is going to be in it until the end."
