Hamilton Wants to Hear From SU

Orlando, Fla., product James Hamilton has already gone into the double-digits when it comes to verbal scholarship offers, so he'll be able to pick and choose when signing day approaches. On Wednesday, we gave him a call to see how familiar he was with Syracuse and who he's been in contact with from the school.

James Hamilton, a 6-foot-3, 285-pound offensive guard from Olympia High School has a Syracuse offer, however according to him he hasn't talked to the staff since getting that offer and really would like to start learning about the Orange as he's watched them in action and sees things he likes.

"Coach (Jimmy Brumbaugh) was in to see me last spring and then they offered me a little while ago," Hamilton stated. "I have called them a few times since I got the offer because I like to keep in touch with my coaches, but I haven't heard back from him since I got the offer. As a matter of fact, I haven't talked to anybody since I got the offer and to be honest, I wouldn't have remembered his name since it was a year ago if we didn't go down the list of coaches I described to you, so I'd really like to hear back from them."

"I know they play in the Carrier Dome and I watched them play USF this season and they looked good," Hamilton added. "From what I saw, they had a very big offensive line and they pound the ball and center their offense around that, so that really caught my eye. That's what I like to do, so I could see myself in that offense for sure. For me, it's just a matter of getting on the line with some coaches and learning more about Syracuse at this point as I am interested in them and have that offer."

As a junior, Hamilton was named first-team All-County on the offensive line.
