Ohio Athlete Likes Syracuse

Pharaoh Brown is an athlete with tremendous versatility from Lyndhurst, Ohio who has several offers in-hand and one of them is from Syracuse who he has already seen in person at junior day. He spoke with us about the Orange on Saturday evening and talked about when and if he'll return.

Brush High School jumbo-athlete Pharaoh Brown has an offer from Syracuse and as it turns out, he'll get to pick where he gets to play if he chooses to sign with the Orange on letter of intent day. He 6-foot-6, 220-pounder talked to us about his opinion of the university and its coaches on Saturday.

"I went up for junior day at Syracuse and I liked the atmosphere and facilities there a lot," Brown said. "I just felt a lot of fan support and there were just a lot of people around campus pulling for the Orange, so you could definitely tell it was a college town up there. I went to see them play basketball against Villanova and it was pretty good there. The crowd was loud and really into the game."

"My main contact in recruiting is Coach (Tyrone) Wheatley and we get along pretty well at this point just trying to build up that relationship," Brown added. "I don't think he tries to tell me what I want to hear. I think he shoots me straight and gives me the impression that I could come into Syracuse and play right away there. I like the defensive line coach a lot as well. We talked a lot about life in general and what to look for in making a decision while I was up there as well and then my coach and I spoke with Coach (Doug) Marrone while we were there and we just talked about all of the schools I was being recruited by and he told me my offer list would blow up. We talked about a lot of stuff, but it was mainly just things outside of Syracuse and around the sport's world."

"I like that Syracuse gave me the feeling of home while I was there. I definitely plan on getting up for the spring game this year and seeing them some more."

Brown is a versatile athlete, playing quarterback, tight end, defensive end and wide receiver for his high school. We asked him where the Orange see him.

"They have just told me that I'm an athlete and that I have my choice of playing defensive end or tight end," Brown explained. "I haven't made a decision yet of which one I want to play, but they're both positions that I really like."

As a junior, Brown had 49 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, seven sacks three pass breakups and two forced fumbles on defense.
