Rippy Will Return to Syracuse

McKees Rocks, Pa., product Deaysean Rippy is the type of athlete on the defensive side of the ball that could line up at strong safety or outside linebacker in college and end up being absolutely dominant in coverage, so the fact that Syracuse is on him hard early in recruiting is no surprise.

Four-star outside linebacker prospect Deaysean Rippy has had his Syracuse offer for a while now and the Sto-Rox High School athlete also has ties to the school with his coach being friends with Dan Conley. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder would be a huge addition for the Orange in this class and we spoke to him on Wednesday about the next time he'll be on campus.

"I'm going to try to get up to Syracuse for their spring practice," Rippy stated. "I talk to Coach (Dan) Conley and he and my coach are really good friends, so we'll be getting up there to check things out. Coach Conley is a good guy and we talk like regular people and just speak on everything from football to academics to just social life, so things are cool."

"I know a little bit here and there about a couple of players at Syracuse and was up there last year for a visit," Rippy added. "The campus was really nice. It was big and huge and I like the facilities that Donovan McNabb contributed to. The stadium was huge and the weight room and what not were impressive, so it was a good visit. I'm definitely looking forward to getting back up there again. I'm thinking about putting them in as one of my official visits, but I'm not sure on that yet. We'll see."

As a junior, Rippy had 85 tackles, 10 sacks and two interceptions. He had over 700 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.
