Bolden Knows Syracuse Well

Syracuse offered Cincinnati, Ohio native Joe Bolden on Thursday afternoon, dipping into an outstanding football pipeline in Colerain High School and when we contacted Bolden to talk about his offer he already had great things to say about the Orange as a football program and an academic institution.

Joe Bolden, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound outside linebacker from Colerain High School received his 13th offer from Syracuse on Thursday and he's quite impressed with what the school could offer him both on the field and in the classroom.

"I just picked up my Syracuse offer today from Coach (Dan) Conley," Bolden said. "Before Coach Conley offered me I talked to him yesterday after school and we spoke about the school and what they had to offer and everything. He's a really outspoken guy and definitely seems like he knows what he's talking about with football. He's back at his alma mater which is good because I think coaches have a special passion where they played and he sounds like he has big plans at Syracuse for the future."

"Obviously their basketball and football team are all over television and I watched them play football down at Cincinnati and I really liked both their offense and defense," Bolden explained. "I know they have over 200 majors and are an excellent school, so that definitely strikes me and I know it's an expensive school, so if you do go there they're definitely putting a lot of stock in you."

"I definitely want to visit up there sometime this spring, but I haven't got a date set up yet," Bolden added. "We haven't talked specifically about which position I would be playing, but they do like my athleticism and Coach Conley said they'd be using me in many different ways and that was an early plus to me because I can get on the field earlier."

As a junior, Bolden had 90 tackles, one sack and intercepted two passes.
