Morris Talks New Offer

The Orange are certainly focusing on the tight end position in the 2012 class and Ryan Morris managed to haul in four touchdown receptions as a junior despite being lined up in an offense with receiver Mike DeTroia who also caught 11 touchdown passes himself.

Ryan Morris, a 6-foot-6, 236-pound tight end from Barnegat High School in Barnegat, N.J., talked to us about his newest offer from Syracuse on Sunday evening.

"Syracuse offered me on Friday night," Morris stated. "I called (Nathaniel) Hackett and he was talking to me about Syracuse itself and then said he looked forward to having me up to visit the campus. He told me that they really liked my size and how I was a vertical threat as well as a solid blocker at the same time."

"I camped at Syracuse last summer and saw some things up there," Morris added. "The coaching staff was great with me and I learned a lot at the camp. I've watched them play and they like to use their tight ends which is a plus and they also had a good year this past season turning things around and going to a bowl game."

Morris also has offers from Louisville, Tulane and Purdue and we asked him when he may get up to the campus for the first time as his camp experience was at SUNY Maritime last summer.

"Hopefully in the next couple of weeks because spring break is coming up soon for us and I might be able to get up in early April. Coach Hackett and I did talk about visiting on the phone, so it's something I'm definitely looking to do."

As a junior, Morris caught 30 passes for 494 yards and four touchdowns.
