Gallo at Spring Game

Syracuse is aggressively pursuing many tight ends and one of them is three-star prospect P.J. Gallo who made it up to campus on Saturday for the spring game. Gallo came away impressed with the staff and tight ends and talked to us about what awed him on the visit.

Council Rock South High School tight end P.J. Gallo has plenty of offers to consider and the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder is now getting into visiting schools, which he started by getting up to Syracuse for their spring game on Saturday.

"I went up to Syracuse for the spring game and the coaches were really nice and you could tell they were good people," Gallo said. "It was a cool atmosphere up there and the game went well. It was a close game and I got to watch how they use their tight ends which I really enjoyed. Nick Provo had like six catches and is a senior who is a really good player."

"We got to see the facilities and the weight room was awesome," Gallo stated. "It was a really good size and it was brand new with a lot of brand new glass windows, but the rest of the facilities were just OK to be honest with you. They did say they're working on upgrading them though, so that would be a big benefit."

"I talked to a running back from New York while I was up there and when I got there I got to meet Coach (Greg) Adkins and Coach (Nate) Hackett and they just told me how excited they were about me. They talked more about how they used their tight ends and it just made me feel good. Again, they're just nice people and I can just tell they care about me and like me."

Gallo finished his junior season with 12 receptions for 246 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he had 93 tackles and five sacks. He says he can bench 260-pounds, squat 415 and has a 28-inch vertical jump.
