Cottrell Talks Orange caught Bryce Cottrell between connecting flights on his way home to Texas on Sunday and the linebacker talked to us about his visit to see the Orange in action at the spring game.

Bryce Cottrell, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound outside linebacker from Plano West Senior High School in Plano, Texas would be a big catch for the Syracuse coaching staff and we got a couple of minutes to talk with him about his recent visit on Sunday.

"I hung out with my family a lot and they showed me around the campus quite a bit," Cottrell said. "I met Coach Doug Marrone, the defensive coordinator and the rest of the staff. The coaching staff was really nice and treated me and my family well."

"The spring game was really fun and exciting and the defense played really well," Cottrell added. "They blitzed a lot and always had a person coming. I could possibly see myself playing in the type of defense. They want me to play outside linebacker and I think I could be a threat off the edge and also be able to drop back in coverage."

"The visit was great overall. I liked it a lot. The campus was beautiful, there is a lot of history there and it was pretty homey there. I got to talk to some of the students there and they were really friendly with me up there. Overall I just had a really good visit. I'm not really sure when I'll be up there next, but this visit was definitely a good one."

Cottrell has family ties to the Syracuse program and many hope that it helps the Orange in his recruiting.
