Interested In Learning More

Syracuse is only bringing in two wide receivers from what we've gathered from recruits this year and they recently offered a new one in Worcester, Mass., native Canaan Severin, a big-bodied prospect with a knack for making huge plays.

Worcester Academy wide receiver Canaan Severin has great size at 6-foot-4, 210 pounds and is an imposing force to deal with in single coverage. The Orange just made a verbal offer to him and he talked to us about his interest in learning more about them.

"I know Syracuse had some great players in Marvin Harrison, Donovan McNabb and Dwight Freeney and that could be a day trip that I take to see the school as its close," Severin said. "I only met Coach (Dan) Conley and he said he wants me as a wide receiver there which opened my eyes because a lot of schools have told me they like me as an athlete, so I liked the straight-forward approach of knowing where they want me."

"I just want to see the campus, see some classrooms and find out what the players are doing in terms of training," Severin added. "I don't really know a lot about the program, so it would be a good opportunity to learn about the program while I'm there."

As a junior, Severin caught 35 catches for 550 yards and five touchdowns. He also had five interceptions on defense.
