Parson Talks SU Offer

Darius Parson is probably more familiar with Syracuse's basketball program than their football program at this point, however when he received his first offer from the Orange on Wednesday night he already started making plans to visit the school.

Darius Parson, a 6-foot-2.5, 215-pound outside linebacker from Woodbridge High School in Woodbridge, Va., spoke with us on Thursday evening about getting his first scholarship offer.

"Coach (Rob) Moore came into the school yesterday and offered me," Parson stated. "I got the chance to meet him when he first came by and he was very cool with me. He just handed me off some camp information and say hello. I was definitely speechless when they offered. It was my first offer and Syracuse is a very big university in my mind. It was very exciting."

"Obviously in terms of athletics they've always had a really good basketball program and I did get to see the football play last year against Louisville," Parson added. "I know they've had some very good players come out of there like Marvin Harrison, Donovan McNabb and Dwight Freeney."

"At this point I want to get online, ask around and learn more about them. My friend Jason Clark plays basketball for Georgetown and has friends that go to Syracuse, so I'm going to have him ask around and also take a visit up there too when me and my dad can get something set up."

As a junior, Parson had 121 tackles, three sacks and one interception.
