Emerich Visits Syracuse

Jason Emerich is currently the holder of five scholarship offers and while he flies under the radar a bit, the Syracuse coaching staff had him up on campus on Monday for a little hospitality. We spoke with him on the way home from his visit to see how the day went.

Jason Emerich, a 6-foot-4, 275-pound offensive tackle from Blue Mountain High School in Schuylkill Haven, Pa., took an unofficial visit to see the Orange on Monday and is impressed with several facets of the program.

"I just left Syracuse and it was a good day," Emerich said. "When I first got up there me, my dad and my mom went around with my recruiter, Coach (Tim) Daoust and saw a lot of stuff on campus. It was a pretty laid back visit."

"We spent time with Coach Greg Adkins and Coach Doug Marrone while I was there too," Emerich stated. "They talked about what the school had to offer and how it compared to other schools. The coaches up there are nice and I definitely get along well with them."

"Liking the coaches at a school is always a positive and the academic part of going to Syracuse is definitely a big plus," Emerich explained. "I'm thinking about Sports Management as a major, but I'm still undecided, so the reputation of the school definitely plays a factor as there is life after football."

We asked Emerich what his plans are for the rest of the summer.

"Plans aren't set yet. I visit Connecticut tomorrow and I'll be at Central Florida in a couple of weeks, so I'm sure we'll make it up as we go."

Emerich has no deadline for when he wants to make a decision.
