The 2011 Midnight Madness event will once again showcase the Syracuse University basketball squads, but the public will be able to see well-rounded entertainment at the Carrier Dome as well.
Scheduled for the Oct. 14 event, 1980's rapper Tone Loc will take to the stage, "America's Got Talent" semi-finalists Sandou Trio Russian Bar -- an acrobatic group -- will perform and "Jersey Shore" cast member Deena will make an appearance.
"We wanted to put together a program that had wide appeal for all age groups,'' Ed Levine, president and CEO of Galaxy Communications, told the Post-Standard. "Even the most casual basketball fan will want to come out and see the show. We've got Tone Loc. There's no show on TV hotter right now than Jersey Shore. We have the acrobatic group from America's Got Talent. And starring the men's and women's basketball teams..."
Admission is free, though tickets will be required at the door. Tickets become available on Oct. 5 at the Carrier Dome box office and the Schine Student Center.
