10 Players earn midseason honors

Phil Steele's College Football Preview also publishes a midseason report, and Syracuse had 10 members on its All-Big East team.

Junior free safety Phillip Thomas was the lone defender on the first team and senior tight end Nick Provo was able to represent the offense on the first team.

The second team was flooded with Syracuse standouts from the team's first six games. Senior running back Antwon Bailey, junior wide receiver Alec Lemon, junior offensive tackle Justin Pugh and freshman linebacker Dyshawn Davis all made the cut.

Four SU athletes made the third team, including redshirt senior offensive guard Andrew Tiller, senior defensive tackle Deon Goggins, senior linebacker Dan Vaughan and sophomore placekicker Ross Krautman.
