Jones to Decide Future Friday Afternoon

Syracuse football has been the epitome of an up-and-down program over the last year, and one of its staples on the defensive side of the ball may not be back in 2012.

Much has been made of the number crunch that Syracuse football was on in the recruiting game with such a big class, though it has tapered off of late because of rumors that several players are testing the NFL draft waters.

On Thursday, one of the questions was semi-answered as Chandler Jones set an announcement date to reveal whether or not he will enter the NFL draft or return to SU for a redshirt senior season.

"Tomorrow at exactly 3:30pm I will announce my decision on going pro or returning to Syracuse..." he said via Twitter.

Though he missed a handful of games early in 2011, the defensive end still led the team with 4 1/2 sacks.

Jones may enter the draft, but apparently Dorian Graham has already made his mind up.Shamarko Thomas is also rumored to be testing his draft stock, and Phillip Thomas is unlikely to return to the team after a one-year suspension towards the end of his junior season. Adam Harris' injury history forced him to retire from the sport already, so there are more spots available for the 2012 recruiting class - we just don't know exactly how many.

Stay on for the latest.
