Morrison & Henderson Announced as Assistants

After reports and speculation throughout the week, Syracuse University announced two coaching additions for the football staff on Wednesday.

After Dan Conley and Jimmy Brumbaugh were relieved of their coaching duties for Syracuse football, there was a gap in time.

With recruiting in full swing, the staff decided to finish through National Signing Day before moving forward in hopes of filling the staff. But on Wednesday, the Athletic Department announced that Steve Morrison and Donnie Henderson will coach the linebackers and defensive backs, respectively.

"We are excited to have Steve and Donnie join the staff," Head Coach Doug Marrone said. "I look forward to working with Donnie again after having been on the staff with him with the New York Jets and to having Steve be reunited with Scott Shafer and Tim Daoust from their time at Western Michigan. They bring a great deal of experience to our program."

Shafer will still be in control of the defense, with Henderson taking his secondary duties.
