There is room for a lot of commitments in Syracuse basketball's 2014 class and McCullough is near the top of the list. The Syracuse staff has been high on him for a long time, and invited him up to their elite camp. After attending for the second straight year, McCullough discussed his experience with CuseNation.com.
"It was good," McCullough said. "We did a lot of drills. Played some games against great competition. We ran up and down. Played full court. So we got a lot done."
Since McCullough has been to the Syracuse elite camp before, he knew what to expect. But it still left an impression.
"I was hanging out with Isaiah Whitehead," McCullough explained. "I came here last year so it was regular to me. But everything was still cool."
At the camp, McCullough primarily worked with assistant coach Adrian Autry and associate head coach Mike Hopkins. He says his relationship with this two coaches are part of the reason he is interested in Syracuse.
"I worked with Coach Red and Coach Hop," McCullough recalled. "We were just laughing and joking talking about the camp and stuff. It was positive. I enjoyed myself. I'm up here so it's good for me to come up here, spend some more time and get a good feel of it. I trust those guys and they're good coaches. I have a good relationship with them."
McCullough is planning on cutting his list down at some point in September.
