The Orange get a much needed win, defeating Pittsburgh 14-13 in their conference opener.

Syracuse opened the game exactly how they wanted to, forcing a quick three and out followed by a touchdown drive that ended with an Adonis Ameen-Moore run. They followed that up with a scoop and score by Dyshawn Davis off a Jeremi Wilkes forced fumble. Pitt responded to close the gap to 14-10 by utilizing their passing attack.

A relatively quiet 3rd quarter ended with the Orange clinging to a 14-13 lead. While the Syracuse offense struggled after their first drive, the defense continued to give Pittsburgh's running game fits.

Brandon Sharpe had the game of his life with four sacks and six tackles for loss to lead a stingy Orange defense.

Syracuse got the ball back with under five minutes left, and ran the clock out to seal a conference opening victory. The Orange hold on 14-13 to improve to 2-3 on the season, 1-0 in conference play.
