Syracuse Visits Florida Linebacker

Syracuse went to Tampa with business in mind. That business was picking up a win over the South Florida Bulls. But they took a little time to visit one of their recruiting targets. has all of the details inside.

Florida defensive end/linebacker Ramar Dennis was planning to cut his list a couple months ago. However, plans changed as he decided to focus on his senior season. Those plans have worked out as his team is district champions.

But that doesn't mean his recruitment hasn't had any developments. Syracuse linebacker coach Steve Morrison paid him a visit during the Orange's trip to play South Florida.

"The linebacker coach from SU stopped yesterday (Friday) to talk to me," Dennis explained. "He told me that they're only looking to take two linebackers and the recruiting will pick up when the season is done.

"He said they loved me this spring and wants to see film from this season. It was an in person visit. We talked for about 15 minutes."

During the visit, Morrison indicated that Syracuse wants Dennis to come visit the Orange campus. While unsure if he will take that visit, Morrison taking time to come see him meant a lot.

"It was pretty cool to know that he took time to come visit when they have a big game today (Saturday)," Dennis said.

While the two-star prospect did not attend the game, he watched on television. Not only is Syracuse recruiting him, but so is South Florida, though the Bulls have not offered. Dennis was impressed with the Syracuse comeback.

"It was a great game by Syracuse," he stated. "It was impressive them coming back and getting the victory."

Dennis said he will get back into his recruitment once his season ends.
