BJ Johnson Makes It Official

Syracuse's 2013 recruit from PA makes good on his word, signing with the Orange. He talks with about the experience and his future donning blue and orange.

B.J. Johnson, the Lower Merion High School small forward, told the Syracuse Orange men's basketball team that he would be joining them next season and now has made that statement official.

"It's truly a blessing. Not everyone gets this opportunity, so it feels great," said Johnson.

Johnson took part in the early signing period so as to not interfere with his upcoming high school season.

"It takes a load off my back since I'm getting the whole process over with," shared Johnson. "Now I can focus on the season."

Syracuse University ultimately got the nod and signature from Johnson because, according to the 2013 recruit, "It felt like the best fit for me. Everyone I met up there seemed to want the best for me."

"I also think I fit in really well with their style of play," Johnson continued.

On the court, Johnson is excited about the opportunities he can have. "Coach [Jim Boeheim] gives a lot of freedom to the players."
