Savage shifts visits as offers pour in

JUCO OL Dionte Savage did not have a lot of offers a little over a month ago. But as the recruiting season moves closer to signing day, interest in the talented lineman has picked up.

A little over a month ago, Dionte Savage was looking at Syracuse as his favorite being one of his only two offers. But recently, things have changed. He now holds offers from Akron, Baylor, Florida International, Fresno State, New Mexico, Southern Illinois, and Texas Tech in addition to the Orange.

Two are standing out right now, as he has scheduled visits to both Baylor and Texas Tech.

"I got an offer from Baylor," Savage said. "I'm going to visit this Friday and going to Texas Tech on the 25th."

Originally, he was supposed to visit Syracuse this weekend. But with all of the coaching changes with the Orange, Savage changed those plans.

"I haven't heard from them," he explained. "I don't know what's going on with 'Cuse."

He also changed another visit. Savage originally had a Fresno State trip scheduled for the 25th.

"Yeah I was supposed to go there," he admitted. "But I'm going to call Fresno and tell them I'm not coming. I mean, just bigger and better offers. That's all."

It appears Baylor and Texas Tech are in the lead for the services of the 6-foot-5 prospect. A decision could come after the two visits unless other schools get involved.
