Longtime Commitment Stays True to the Orange

The Pennsylvania quarterback had some moments where he considered looking elsewhere, but the newly-formed Syracuse staff now has one of their quarterbacks of the 2013 class inked in.

East Pennsboro Area Senior High School quarterback Austin Wilson will make the short trek from Pennsylvania into New York as he officially joins the Syracuse Orange football program by signing his National Letter of Intent.

"It's a great relief," said Wilson. "It was always my biggest goal to be signing on national signing day to a big time school and now I am."

Looking at his name on paper with the Orange, Wilson described his emotions. "It is very exciting and at the same time makes me thankful for the opportunity that I have been blessed with," Wilson stated.

As far as his celebration of this moment in his life, Wilson shared that his friends and family were alongside him to be a part of this historical day in his life.

He added a message to Syracuse fans about becoming a quarterback on the roster for Syracuse. "I'm excited to be a part of it!," Wilson exclaimed. "And that they are getting a hard-nosed and hard-working quarterback that is going to lead the Orange in the ACC."
